Who is our Office(BON) for?
The BON is for you if:
- You are experiencing the effects of a disability or chronic health problems. You do not need to have formal disability status. It is important though, that can confirm your health condition with medical documentation;
- Transient health issues causes the standard regulations of the study process difficult for you. E.g., the limit of allowable absences, the need for handwritten notes, the deadline for sessions;
- Your health condition has a significant impact on your learning efficiency or on taking up various activities important for your functioning at university;

First steps with the BON
Register with the Office for Persons with Disabilities. Describe your difficulties, expected assistance and adjustments provided to you in your previous education. We will contact you and arrange next steps.
It is essential to provide current medical records regarding your condition or disability. If you have any doubts about this documentation, contact the Office.
Our Consultant will schedule an appointment with you to discuss the individual support and other BON services available to you such as transportation, adaptations of materials, equipment rental, mute rooms at the University of Warsaw. Read more about the services offered.
How does the BON help students/employees?
- Our mission is to help providing equality in study, work, and participation in university life. The BON bases its activities on the social model of disability derived from the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Read more about the BON’s tasks.
- Among other things, the BON supports students and employees through recommendations:
- concerning the study process,
- reasonable adjustments to examinations,
- elimination of architectural and digital barriers.
- We act through consultation and assistance, transportation and adaptation of materials. The BON also supports the study process, for example, by developing and making study aids by 3D printing and Braille printing.
- The BON oversees processes and behaviors at the University in terms of compliance with regulations defining the rights of people with disabilities. We provide consultation and trainings on accessibility and working with people with disabilities and learning difficulties.
