When your health conditions prevent or significantly impede your studies, you may apply for a medical leave.

According to §32 pt. 2 Regulations of Studies at the University of Warsaw, it is possible to apply for medical leave in two ways:

  • You may apply for the leave (with attached medical documentation) directly to the Deputy Head of Student Affairs.
  • You may submit a request for the leave to the Dean via the Office for Persons with Disabilities (BON).
In this case, the BON verifies medical documentation and sends only the information enclosing the most important conclusions of the student’s application to the Faculty. This solution protects the medical records of the applicant.

The Office can prepare the recommendation only when you report current health problems before the session or before the semester is closed.

If you have already tried to take the exams or credits in the examination session, and then you are requesting a leave of absence, the BON’s recommendation will be against granting the leave.

How to apply

If you would like to benefit from the BON, contact consultants for students’ affairs. Please call us to schedule an appointment.
