The Computer Lab is located in the technological part of the BON, on the first floor of the building of the Faculty of the Neophilology of the University of Warsaw, at 55 Dobra Street, room 0.70.

Staying and using the resources of the Computer Lab is done in accordance with the Computer Lab Regulations.

The task of the Computer Lab is to comprehensively support students and employees of Warsaw University with disabilities in the use of assistive technologies.

Services and accessible solutions

  • Students can use desktop computers in the Studio, equipped with assistive technologies. They can be used to work with MS Office documents or access the University’s online resources and websites.
  • It is also possible to scan, copy and print materials related to studies at the University of Warsaw using equipment located in the Studio. Reasonable amounts of printing and photocopying are allowed.
  • The BON’s technology staff running the Computer Lab also offers assistance with technology consultation and training, as well as rentals of specialized equipment.
  • In addition, people with disabilities can take advantage of IT assistance in troubleshooting equipment problems and knowledge support in making full use of assistive technologies.
  • Next to the Computer Lab is a department for adapting teaching materials, along with braille printer facilities.

If you need to consult or solve a hardware problem, please call in advance and schedule an appointment with the Technology Department staff.


Rules and regulations of the Computer Lab for students with disabilities

  1. The laboratory is available to students from Monday to Friday during the working hours of the Office for Persons with Disabilities, maximum from 08:00 to 16:00.
  2. People authorized to use the lab are only students registered with the UW Office for Persons with Disabilities, hereafter referred to as Users.
  3. People taking care of the resources of the Computer Lab are employees of the BON Technology Department, hereinafter referred to as Administrators.
  4. The User is entitled to make black and white printouts free of charge and to use the photocopier in an amount not exceeding 10 pages per day.
  5. The user is entitled to request the Administrator to connect and configure the necessary assistive technology, as long as it is available in the BON’s resources.
  6. The user is obliged to ensure that his/her private content, especially content containing his/her personal data, or sensitive data, is removed from the workstation before the end of use.
  7. The user is obliged to delete files downloaded to the workstation and browser history before shutting down the workstation.
  8. In case the user does not have sufficient knowledge or skills to delete private content and browsing history on his/her own, he/she is obliged to report this fact to the Administrator before shutting down the workstation.
  9. The user is obliged to immediately report any defects and malfunctions of the equipment to the Administrator.
  10. When using Internet resources, it is forbidden to access sites containing content that violates the Polish law, harmful content or content containing illegal software and links.
  11. On workstations, it is forbidden to install software, the which has not been previously consulted with Administrators.
  12. In the lab it is forbidden to consume food (sandwiches, apples, cakes, etc.), as well as all kinds of drinks from open dishes.
  13. The user is obliged to take care of the actual condition of the equipment in the studio.
  14. The user is obliged to strictly apply the rules of safety of computer work.
  15. Any attempt to modify the configuration of the equipment in the Computer Lab is unacceptable.
  16. Failure to comply with the rules and regulations will result in restriction of the user’s access to the lab or a complete ban on its use.
